The Tourist

When going on holiday, there is a few highly important essentials that one needs to bring, in order to be able to relax. Especially if one is going on a beach holiday. There is nothing worse then forgetting sunscreen as an example. A holiday filled with sunburns and staying in the shadow, is not a pleasant one if you ask me. That is why I brought some of my current favorite products to use in the sun on my holiday to Palma.

1. Zara beachbag - Bought this in Palma. It's incredibly light which makes it perfect to stuff with beach essentials. It's not big enough to hold a towel, but all other stuff you would want to bring to the beach will fit. I love the colors, and that you can wear it both to the beach and when going to the city for some shopping.

2. Replay sandals - The comfiest sandals I brought to Palma. Not only is the color super amazing, but the fit is perfect and the leather is so soft. The design is also a little bit different to any sandal I have ever seen before, which is great because with such a light shoe, it's hard to stand out design wise.

Wearing: Bathingsuit by Bikbok, bag by Zara, sunglasses from Sunbuddies, silk scarf from Sandro and necklace by Mango.

3. Biotherm Crème Solaire spf 30 - I used this every single day on my face in Palma, and I didn't break out once, which one can tend to do with sunscreen. It soaks quickly into the skin, leaving it fresh and plump.

4. Guerlain Terracotta Sun Protect spf 30 - I used this one completely up on my trip. Not only is the scent amazing, but it's so light on the skin and I do really love the idea of a tan enhancer in a sunscreen. I would prefer if the tube was a little bit bigger, so one wouldn't have to bring multiple bottles when going on a two week holiday for example.

5. Guerlain Terracotta Rêve d'Eté - This is a "skin tint" of some sorts, that gives your skin a fresh summer tanned look without covering anything up. This also contains the tan enhancer which is why I used it under the Biotherm sunscreen every day. I also mixed this into my foundation during the evenings, to make it lighter on the skin and darker in color.

6. Decléor Aroma Sun Expert Protective Hydrating Milk spa 30 - Another spf 30 that I brought with me on my trip. This one is also super light and soaks quickly into the skin, so one could say that it does what it promises (as in the hydrating milk part). One thing I prefer with this one is that a small amount goes a long way. This one looks barely touched, but I used the Guerlain one up completely on my 10-days long trip.

My Summer Scents

Advertisement - These perfumes were gifted to me.

I have always loved perfume. I look at it like sort of an everyday luxury, something that adds that last touch to any outfit, and really sets the mood for the rest of the day. Perfumes can accentuate what your attire is trying front, an example could be if you are wearing a bright red dress and you want to channel confidence. The right perfume would add just that last touch to your look, but also your mood. One could say that the right perfume is a confidence booster of some sorts.

Since I do love perfume a lot, I tend to vary which one I wear. This also reflects upon the current season we find ourselves in. Summer scents and winter scents for me would be quite different. I have gathered up three of my current favorite scents that I will wear this summer. All of them representing a different type of mood, look and feel.

Dolce & Gabbana The One - Via Vita Exclusive

I fell in love with this perfume the first time I smelled it. It smelled like something familiar, a smell that I couldn't really point my finger at. One of the main notes in it is the Madonna lilly, but it also has notes of bergamot, mandarin, lychee, peach, jasmine and vanilla. It's not overly floral smelling which I like. It is the perfect combination of sensual and cute, and it is a very modern scent. Out of the three, this is the one I reach toward the most. It fits perfect with my more colorful outfits, or outfits with a lot of patterns. One could say that the perfume is quite playful, so that is why I like to combine it with my more playful and fun attire.

Le Labo Santal 33 - Via Sanatorium (in Oslo)

The most recent perfume in my collection. I have been wanting this perfume for quite some time now, but one haven't been able to buy it here in Norway.. Until now. The perfume is based on sandalwood, but it also has notes of iris, violet and cardamom. Everything in it is handmade, from the flower picking to the blending of the perfume in the labs. One of the main reasons I love it so much is that it smells like nothing I have ever smelled before. It's very unique and really sets the mood. I would wear, and plan on wearing this with more muted outfits. Like for example today I wore it with a white skirt, a big white shirt and some black sandals. I wore minimal make-up and accessories. The whole outfit felt very clean, and that is what I get from this perfume as well.

Giorgio Armani Sì Passione

Let's talk about that red dress I mentioned in the beginning. This is the perfume you wear with that dress. It's sensual but not too overpowering. You can actually wear it both daytime and nighttime I personally think. It has notes of pear, vanilla, rose, jasmin etc. It's very feminine and powerful. I wear this when I am going out for dinner, to evening events and whenever I get more dressed up. You can use this perfume to become more dressed up without adding any more elements to your outfit.

If you are looking for a new perfume I highly recommend these three. All three were gifted, but all of the opinions are my own. I would never write about something I don't like, and I hope you guys see that.

The Beauty Edit

Advertisement (as in a few products where gifted)

I am very much into beauty, in fact I once thought that I would end up as a stylist/make-up artists doing both beauty and fashion. However there are so many talented people doing beauty these days. I love watching YouTube and learn about new techniques and products; YouTube was in fact where I learnt a lot of what I know today about make-up and beauty.

Even though I am not the best in the business or an educated make-up artist, I do think that I have some knowledge about the topic, and that I have found some pretty amazing beauty products that work for me! Please do keep in mind that my skin type is normal to combination, where I get oily in the T-zone.

1. YSL Touche Éclat All-in-one Glow Foundation

I have actually been getting loads of compliments when wearing this foundation, where people are saying that my skin glows. What I like about this foundation is that even though I have oily skin, I can still wear it. I would say that it´s light to medium coverage, and actually smells super nice which is rare for foundations I personally think. I apply this with my Real Techniques beauty blender sponge, and it soaks into the skin seamlessly.

2. Erborian CC Crème

I bought this CC cream in Paris in December, and I have used it pretty much every day since. It's white when it comes out of the tube, and turns to color when you blend it into your skin. It blends really nicely into the skin, so it doesn't look like you are wearing makeup. When I apply this, i usually spread a good amount around my face, before I blend it in with my hands to really warm up the product. Then I "patt" it into my skin with my trusty beauty blender.

3. YSL Touche Éclat Face Highlighter Pen

4. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This concealer costs like 4 pounds in Boots in the UK, so I always stock up on it when I am over there. Not only is it super cheap, it also works wonders for the price! When I apply this, I use the applicator and put it under my eyes, on my forehead right between my brows and upwards, down the bridge of my nose, on my cupids bow and some on my chin. Then I also blend this out with the beauty blender.

5. Nars Laguna Bronzer

I have been using this bronzer for as long as I can remember. Every time I am in a country where there is a Sephora, I stock up on this one. The color is perfect for contouring and for bronzing up the skin, or that is at least my personal opinion. Even though it has a few shimmer specks in the product, it doesn't show up on the skin. Remember skin isn't naturally matte, so why would one use only matte products?

6. Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

7. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in C Pop

8. MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush

9. YSL Couture Brow

Lately, I have been obsessed with only using colored browgel on my eyebrows. I think it gives more of a natural result, while also giving them more definition and color. I have quite bushy eyebrows, but they are also sparse meaning that they don't really look that full unless I color them or use some products. This one from YSL is super good, but the Maybelline one is defiantly a good dupe for it.

10. Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler

11. Mac Cosmetics Prep+Prime Fix+

12. Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer

This one is another product I have been using for years. One of the things I love about it is that it literally lasts for a year or two, not even joking. You need the tiniest amount, and the eyeshadow sticks all day, no creasing.

13. YSL Top Secret Eye Perfecting Fluid

14. Huda Beuty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette

I have been loving this palette lately. Bought it in Paris at Sephora, and I have been using it almost every day since. I am currently loving experimenting with colored eyeshadow, and especially orange, purple and pink. One would think that people would look weird at me for wearing those kinds of colors on my eyelids, but actually people have been stopping me asking for where my eyeshadow is from!

15. YSL The Shock Mascara

16. Clinique High Impact Mascara

17. YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara

18. Maxfactor Clump Defy Mascara

As you can probably tell, I have a lot of different mascaras that I am loving lately. This one is the cheapest one, but it's just as good as the others. The perfect everyday mascara, that separates the lashes while also giving them length and volume. My lashes are quite stubborn, so I need a good mascara to keep them staying up all day, and this works wonders!

19. Clarins Eclat Minute Lip Comfort Oil

I really can't live without this lip oil. It soothes my winter dry lips, smells amazing and the applicator is so so soo soft. I don't really like the smell of the other, more colorful ones of the comfort oils. The one I have is the original one, and it's truly amazing.

20. Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick

21. YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lipstain

22. Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Mehr

23 & 24. Nars Audacious Lipsticks in the colors: Anita & Raquel

If I could only pick one lipstick, or one lipstick range that I could wear for the rest of my life, it would be the Nars Audacious lipsticks. They are quite matte, but at the same time so moisturizing and soft on the lips. I have three shades from the range (all the nude ones haha), but these two are my favorite! Defiantly worth a try, if you are a lipstick lover.

25.  Balmain Silk Perfume

It's perfume for your hair, in the most amazing scent ever! What more can I say?

26. Balmain Texturising Salt Spray

27 & 28. NCP Olfactives perfumes

These are perfumes that you can mix and match with each other! There are a wide range of smells to choose from, some woody and some more floral. I think it's so much fun to try out new perfumes, and especially when you can mix them yourself to find that perfect scent that fits you.

I hope you got some new products that you want to try out, or some new tips and tricks to use with your already existing beauty range. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments or send me a direct on Instagram or on my Facebook page!

The Skincare Edit

If there is something I have had up's and down's with: It's skincare.. I know the importance of cleaning your face every morning and evening, but sometimes I just stop and don't use anything other than a makeup wipe for months to end. I then forget what my skin used to look like, and how good or better it can actually be. I am now into the zone of cleaning my skin and just like last time, I have rediscovered the importance of doing so. I also think I have found products that really work for me. Just missing some products like eye cream and serum which I am currently on the hunt for.

Anyways, I thought I would share what I am currently using in this first post called "The Skincare Edit". I will probably post more of these whenever my routine changes. And If you have any recommendations for me, I would love to hear them!

Step 1

After I have removed my makeup, I go in with this cleanser from Murad called the "Essential-C Cleanser". I use a sort of exfoliating sponge to cleanse with, because I hate touching my face with my hands hehe.. This cleanser has a lot of antioxidants in it, and it helps removing any environmental impurities, which is good for me who lives in a big city. It is also not tested on animals which is great! After I have cleansed my skin, I rinse it of with a small towel with water, but I only "pat" dry with the towel, I do not drag it around if that makes any sense.

Step 2

After the cleanse, I use the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner. It helps calm down the skin after cleaning it, and preparing it for the moisturizer. I use a small cotton pad and apply it to my face avoiding the eye area. It is amazing to see how there still is some leftovers makeup on my face which comes of with the cotton pad. That really sets an example for why you should cleanse. The toner isn't amazing, but it does the job.

Step 3

At last comes moisturizer. I have combination skin, which means I get quite oily on my forehead and nose. The Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is oil free, so It does not add any oils to my already oil face heh.. It sinks into the skin fast, and is very lightweight.

The Mario Badescu Silver Powder works for me like a facemask. You apply it with a cotton pad, dip it in water, then in powder and then press it on problem areas on your face. I use it on nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. It helps clear out pores and draw out excess oils. I only use this 1-2 times a week.

Lastly I just want to mention this primer. It is called the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. Since it is mostly meant for normal to dry skin, I use this on cheeks, sides of forehead, chin and around my nose. It helps smooth out my skin, but also giving my skin a hydrating boost.

Let me know if you have any questions or recommendations!
