The Skincare Edit
If there is something I have had up's and down's with: It's skincare.. I know the importance of cleaning your face every morning and evening, but sometimes I just stop and don't use anything other than a makeup wipe for months to end. I then forget what my skin used to look like, and how good or better it can actually be. I am now into the zone of cleaning my skin and just like last time, I have rediscovered the importance of doing so. I also think I have found products that really work for me. Just missing some products like eye cream and serum which I am currently on the hunt for.
Anyways, I thought I would share what I am currently using in this first post called "The Skincare Edit". I will probably post more of these whenever my routine changes. And If you have any recommendations for me, I would love to hear them!
After I have removed my makeup, I go in with this cleanser from Murad called the "Essential-C Cleanser". I use a sort of exfoliating sponge to cleanse with, because I hate touching my face with my hands hehe.. This cleanser has a lot of antioxidants in it, and it helps removing any environmental impurities, which is good for me who lives in a big city. It is also not tested on animals which is great! After I have cleansed my skin, I rinse it of with a small towel with water, but I only "pat" dry with the towel, I do not drag it around if that makes any sense.
After the cleanse, I use the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner. It helps calm down the skin after cleaning it, and preparing it for the moisturizer. I use a small cotton pad and apply it to my face avoiding the eye area. It is amazing to see how there still is some leftovers makeup on my face which comes of with the cotton pad. That really sets an example for why you should cleanse. The toner isn't amazing, but it does the job.
At last comes moisturizer. I have combination skin, which means I get quite oily on my forehead and nose. The Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is oil free, so It does not add any oils to my already oil face heh.. It sinks into the skin fast, and is very lightweight.
The Mario Badescu Silver Powder works for me like a facemask. You apply it with a cotton pad, dip it in water, then in powder and then press it on problem areas on your face. I use it on nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. It helps clear out pores and draw out excess oils. I only use this 1-2 times a week.
Lastly I just want to mention this primer. It is called the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. Since it is mostly meant for normal to dry skin, I use this on cheeks, sides of forehead, chin and around my nose. It helps smooth out my skin, but also giving my skin a hydrating boost.
Let me know if you have any questions or recommendations!
